ShareGeo Download Help
To download a dataset from ShareGeo, click on an item title which is displayed after doing a Search or Browse. This will bring up the Simple Record view which shows brief metadata about the dataset. To see more information about the dataset click on 'Show full item record' - this will show all the metadata associated with the dataset.
Provided you have appropriate permission to access the dataset there will be a button labelled 'Download" in the section of the metadata record that is titled 'Files in this item'.

Click on "Download" and you will be prompted to download the dataset file (it will either be a Zip file or a Kmz file). If it is a Zip file, once you have downloaded it you will need to unzip the file and extract the contents. The data will be in the same format as when it was deposited i.e. if a Shapefile was deposited then that is what will be in the Zip file. You will need access to an appropriate GIS or viewing software to use the data. If it is a Kmz file you should be able to open the file directly in Google Earth.
Important
After you have downloaded the dataset you should run it through a Virus Scanner. EDINA and the University of Edinburgh do not guarantee that the data is free from viruses.
Citation
If you use the data in any subsequent research or publication please reference its use by using the URI provided in the Simple Record View of the item.
