November 2011 – July 2012
PhoneBooth will repurpose the Charles Booth Maps, Descriptive of London Poverty and selected police notebooks, which record eye-witness descriptions of London street-by-street, for delivery to mobile devices. The project will enhance the current online delivery by enabling content to be delivered directly to the location to which it refers. Mobilisation will enhance the utility of the digital content for the audience of the online archive and its use will be piloted in a teaching course which already makes use of the Booth maps and notebooks. The mobilisation of Library content will serve as a model and technical basis for the further development of digital library services.
