Early Adopters
Early Adopter Institutions will be offered OS MasterMap data from January 2007. These data will replace the current Land-Line.Plus data, although Land-Line.Plus will still be available. Early Adopter institutions should aim to use OS MasterMap instead of Land-Line.Plus wherever possible, in teaching and research. We also plan to replace all existing Land-Line maps in all current applications with MasterMap maps (for Early Adopter sites only). This means that "ready-made" Land-Line maps will no longer be available through Digimap.
In return for early access to the new dataset, EDINA will ask for feedback on various aspects of using the data - how easy it is to download, how easy it is to manage, whether it is more or less useful for teaching and research than Land-Line.Plus data etc.
Land-Line.Plus will not be updated again (as of August 2006) and will be withdrawn completely on 31 August 2008. Early Adopters will play a key role in ensuring that the needs of the academic community are met regarding delivery of OS MasterMap data and the support required for it.
