She oversees a diverse service portfolio, driving sustainable growth and institutional alignment. Under her leadership, EDINA has pioneered university-wide GenAI solutions and secured vital infrastructure investment. Dedicated to professional development, Anne mentors through the Aurora programme and actively champions EDINA’s 30-year legacy as a trusted innovator in the education sector.

    Head of Services & Deputy Director

    As Head of Services at EDINA, The University of Edinburgh, James Reid leads the delivery of national digital platforms and research-informed innovation. With three decades of expertise, he manages high-value services ranging from geospatial suites to Generative AI. James holds key leadership roles within the ESRC-funded UK Data Service and sits on several national committees, including the British Standards Institute, driving excellence in data standards and sustainable research infrastructure.

    Alexander leads the Technical Operations at EDINA at Edinburgh University, with over 15 years’ experience in product development, innovation, and strategic technology leadership. A polyglot full-stack technologist and team builder, he has lead diverse multidisciplinary teams, and aligned executive stakeholders, through collaborative, iterative, and scalable technical practice.
