EVENT DESCRIPTION

This event will cover the use of OS MasterMap data within the EDINA Digimap service. Onward use of the data will also be considered. As of 2 September, Land-Line Plus data has been removed from the EDINA Digimap service and completely replaced with OS MasterMap data.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

You will learn about Land-Line Plus to MasterMap user transition issues, the features and benefits of OS Mastermap data, mapping in Digimap with OS MasterMap, data downloading, data formats and data conversion tools. There are practical sessions where data is downloaded from Digimap, converted to an appropriate format then imported to a Geographical Information System (GIS).

RELEVANCE

The event will be of relevance to support, teaching or research staff involved in supporting learners with use of digital map data, or who work on research projects that incorporate geo-spatial data.

• It is essential that you are an individually registered EDINA Digimap user from a subscribing institution. You can get more information about access, subscription and registration here edina.ac.uk/digimap/
• You will get the most out of this course if you have already used the Data Download function of Digimap. You can find information on this in the help area of the Digimap website.
