If you are having difficulty accessing an EDINA service, the following notes might help:
My password isn't recognised.
First, check that you don't have Caps Lock on by accident. You should also check that you are using the correct set of login details. If you have more than one username and password and aren't sure which one to use, please ask your local support staff for assistance.
I get an error message which says my institution is "not asserting user accountability". What do I do?
This error means that your institution's authentication system is not set up in a way that permits access to this service. Please tell your local support staff that you see this message when you try to access this service. EDINA is unable to assist with this problem.
I get an error message which says my institution doesn't subscribe to this service. What do I do?
First, if you are using a computer on campus you can check whether your institution subscribes to this service: my services. You can also check your institution's Library or Learning Resources web site for information on what services your institution subscribes to.
Second, when you are sure your institution subscribes to the service you are trying to access, please contact your local support team. It may be that your institution's local authentication system is not set up in a way that permits access to this service.
I can't find my institution in the drop-down list. Which should I choose?
Institution names are listed in alphabetical order, but note that those called "University of..." are listed under U. If your institution is not listed here, please choose Eduserv Athens from this list. NOTE: choosing Eduserv Athens will not permit access to any Digimap Collection.
I clicked on a link to this service from my institution's website, which doesn't work, and doesn't ask for my username and password. What should I do?
If the links from your institution's website to a particular service does not work, please tell your local support team or the website administrator which link is faulty. EDINA cannot change links on institutions' websites; please do not contact EDINA.
I clicked the "via direct access" login button and I can't access the service. What should I do?
If you are not using a computer which is part of your institution's network, you will need to log in using another method. If you are using a computer which is part of your institution's network, please ask your local support team for help. Please do not contact EDINA.
Most EDINA services are not accessible via direct access (IP authentication). If this access route is available, a special login button will be available on the service login page.
