If you are having trouble logging in (to an EDINA service), please try the following instructions.
The login page for each EDINA service may have up to three login buttons:
Login via Direct Access:If you are on campus, you can gain access to the service by clicking the "via direct access" button. This will check the IP address of the computer you are using and will allow you access to the service if your computer is part of a subscribing institution's network.
Login via UK federation: If you are off campus or there is no direct access login button, click the login via UK federation button.
First, specify which institution you wish to authenticate with. If you have not already authenticated, after clicking the login button you should see a drop-down list of institutions. It may look like this:
Choose your own institution from the drop down list and click the "Select" button. Then enter your username and password as requested and click OK. NOTE: If you can't find your own institution listed here, please talk to your local support team for help. Your local authentication system may not be set up in a way that permits access.
If your password has been accepted, briefly you should see a message entitled "Shibboleth Authentication Request Processed". This may be displayed for a few seconds. It looks like this:
Following this, you should gain access to the service.
