EDINA is a national data centre, designated by JISC, and forms part of the 'virtual library' for staff and students in UK higher and further education. A key strategic objective is to improve access to spatial data, via the Internet/Mobile networks, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related technologies.
We seek a full time Geographic Information Technician to support, maintain and develop our online services and projects for delivering geographic information. The work is primarily focused on the data and database aspects of our services, providing operational cover and undertaking aspects of service development.
Ideally you will have a degree in a geo-spatial science or related discipline, expertise with using a range of GIS applications, database skills and practical experience of handling and processing a range of different geo-spatial data types and data. We will be looking for individuals who can demonstrate flexibility, initiative, the ability to work with time pressures and who have good problem solving skills. The ability to work as part of a dynamic team is essential.
Remuneration will be in the UE06 range £25,759-£29,837.
