An opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer/Java Web Developer to work on a unique, state-of-the-art online service delivering maps, geospatial data and geographic information to researchers and students across the UK. EDINA's Digimap service provides online access to a wide range of topographic and subject-specific mapping and map data, including geology, hydrographic, historical and contemporary Ordnance Survey maps. It has around 50,000 users and delivers over 21 million maps and 20TB of data per year. You'll be tasked with keeping this complex service running, as well as contributing to the evolution and development of this and other online services in a rapidly changing environment.
